Sofia 2 is a sophisticated benchtop analyzer that uses advanced fluorescent technology for accurate and fast test results. It has a touchscreen interface for easy operation and can connect to the Virena System for data management. Results are generated in minutes and can be stored automatically. The device offers two operating modes: WALK AWAY for automatic results after incubation and READ NOW for quick analysis of multiple tests. It is compact and allows for external media export and LIS integration.

The Sofia Influenza A+B Fluorescent Immunoassay (FIA) detects influenza A and B viral antigens using advanced immunofluorescence–based lateral-flow technology. It is easy to use and allows testing for both influenza and RSV from a single sample. The test uses a fixed-volume pipette for accurate sample collection and allows for the differential detection of influenza A and influenza B antigens. The test is CLIA waived for direct nasal swab, nasopharyngeal swab, and nasopharyngeal aspirate/wash specimens and can be used with Sofia or Sofia 2 devices.
